Challenge: Why customers want to buy sustainably, but they often don’t?

Strategic Design was utilised to create a systemic process and toolbox to suit the needs of Vermét Design Oy. The process outlined the challenges and opportunities in complex business environment and included extensive observation of the operating environment and customer behaviour models. The needs of the organisation’s strategic level, operational level, customer and environment were considered, as well as  the interaction between those elements. This helped to identify the variable opportunity and risk factors of the business model and the operating model comprehensively.

The market fit and timeliness of the business model were validated through multiple MVP tests. As a result, Vermét Design Oy found a sweet spot between the challenges in business environment and the creation of value for the customer. The designed business model is customer centric, agile and continuously evolving. It utilises customer experience, co-creation and fast market testing, as well as improves the management of production volumes and stocks.
